Lovell Milo (T.J. Thyne) is trapped living his life out of order. Every time he wakes up, he is a different age, 28, 15, 30, 8, 91, etc. Although each day is new to him, he knows who he is and who other people are, and things seem familiar. He slowly is able to put together the puzzle pieces. He's a photographer, and he married a girl who knew from childhood, Grace (played by Paula Rhodes as an adult, and by Elle Labadie as a child). His father, Dr. Orson Milo (Chris Stone) is a physician, and an autocratic bully towards him.
Lovell further learns that his wife died on the same day she gave him a present, an expensive wristwatch. When Lovell becomes frustrated with his inability to understand his situation, he often encounters strangers who mysteriously advise him to "pay attention." He angrily observes his father being especially rude to Grace when she confronts him, both as a child and an adult.
Lovell ultimately discovers that Grace was killed when she was struck by a car when she was jogging. His father was on call at the hospital, but he slept through the ringing of his pager
Because of the mystery nature of the story, it would not be appropriate to reveal too much through spoilers. However, a key phrase in the narrative is that "when one is near death, their life flashes before their eyes."
